Throughout the Bible, we find verses that mention God "making" things happen for His people.
God - being God - can "make" things happen for you. As the Word of God delineates, He is the "Alpha and Omega" ... the "beginning and the end"... and the "first and the last." Besides, He is also "El Shaddai" - the God all-sufficient Who has every thing and needs not any thing. All power in Heaven and in Earth is His. He has enough to satisfy your most enlarged desires - if you will simply set Him always before you...think, speak, and act in every thing as though under His eye...have a constant regard to His Word as the rule for your life... consider His glory as the end in all your actions...be constantly found in His fear... and be entire for Him in your walk with Him.
In this message, we would like to use various verses in the Bible depicting this topic as prayer points for your life.
May the Lord hear and answer our prayers for you and "make" all "good things" happen for you.
Psalm 5:8 says - "...make Thy way straight before my face."
We pray that God would give you the direction that you need at this time - marking out or making plain the way in which He would have you to walk - causing the way of Providence, Grace, Worship, and Duty to appear manifest before you - with all obstructions, difficulties, or hindrances being removed out of the way.
Psalm 22:9 says - "...Thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts."
Our prayer for you is that the childhood instances of Divine Provision and Protection would stir up faith and trust in your heart - that you would remember all the early incidents portraying God's goodness and mercy toward you. And in doing so, may it cause you to enter into a greater dimension of hope and trust in Him.
Psalm 23:2 says - "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures..."
Matthew Henry made this comment on this particular verse - "God makes His saints to lie down; He gives them quiet and contentment in their own minds, what ever their lot is; their souls dwell at ease in Him, and that makes every pasture green."
Our prayer for you is that you would realize the calmness and repose of the covenant of grace with its blessings and promises - that you would experience a "fullness of grace" or "grace for grace." May you be led into the fresh, rich, and never exhausted Scriptures of truth - being fully fed and satisfied. And besides spiritual abundance, may you also experience physical abundance - whereby every need is supplied. Psalm 31:16 says - "Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant..."
Psalm 119:135 says - "Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant..."
May God give you the "sunshine of Heaven" in your soul today - defying the storms of fear, guilt, shame, doubt, depression, and discouragement. May you enjoy a greater sense of His approval on your life and walk - experiencing His gracious Presence, the discoveries of His love, the enjoyment of His Person, and a deeper communion with Him. And may you assuredly know that you are accepted of Him and counted as one of His favorites.
Psalm 39:4 says - "LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am."
Our prayer for you is that you will consider the shortness of your life on earth and, resultantly, be concerned to do with all your might what your hands find to do. We pray that this knowledge will cause you to better bear the sorrows of life - knowing that all suffering is soon to end. We pray that your "impatience" during the trials of life will be channeled into energy to do more for the kingdom of God than ever before.
Psalm 39:8 says - "...make me not the reproach of the foolish."
We are petitioning the Lord for abundant grace to keep you from presumptuous sin...foolish words, thoughts, or actions...or periods of depression or gloom which would give occasion to the wicked to mock you, deride your godly expectations, or ridicule your faith in God.
Psalm 51:6 says - "...and in the hidden part Thou shalt make me to know wisdom."
God gives wisdom and understanding. He alone is able to write His law and place His fear (which is the beginning of wisdom) in your heart. He is the One Who enables you to understand what is truly wise - to discern and avoid the designs of the tempter. He is your teacher - instructing you on the dictates of sound wisdom and then empowering you by His grace to restrain inordinate propensities contrary to it. May He accomplish all of this in your heart and life.
Psalm 51:8 says - "Make me to hear joy and gladness..."
Charles Spurgeon once said - "...the joy of pardon has a voice louder than the voice of sin. God's voice speaking peace is the sweetest music an ear can hear."
Have you sinned or fallen short of the glory of God? Even though you have repented with godly sorrow, does the enemy throw accusations against your soul both day and night? Our prayer is that you will "hear" God's voice of forgiveness - reconciling you back to Himself - while restoring unto you the "joy of your salvation." In your pardon, may you experience double joy.
Psalm 119:27 says - "Make me to understand the way of Thy precepts..."
We are praying for you that God will give you a deep insight into the practical meaning of His Word - that you will know your duty...have a clear, distinct, comprehensive, and methodical knowledge of divine things...and mentally and spiritually grasp all that the Holy Ghost is teaching you from day to day.
Psalm 119:35 says - "Make me to go in the path of Thy commandments..."
There are many paths to follow each and every day. You have a choice as to which one you will pursue. Our prayer for you is that you will be led, guided, and directed into the "path" of God's commandments - that He would grant you fresh supplies of His grace, spiritual strength, and a willing mind - to always do His will and follow the dictates of His Word.
Genesis 17:2 says - "And I will make My covenant between Me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly."
Genesis 48:4 says - "...I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people..."
Isaiah 51:4 says - "...I will make My judgment to rest for a light of the people."
Our prayer for you is spiritual "fruitfulness" and "multiplication." Through you may the Gospel be preached and take firm footing and deep root in the world - insomuch that the Word of God will be established and firmly set in the hearts of the people - producing a godly generation whose only desire is to love and serve Jesus.
God - Who is the God of all gods and the Lord of all lords - El-Shaddai - the "More Than Enough" God - can "make" things happen for you - if only you will believe.
1 Corinthians 2:9 says - "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him."
Matthew 21:22 says - "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
We are asking Jesus to "make" all "good things" - as written in His Holy Word - to happen for you.
Take the limits off of God.
Get out of the proverbial "box" that the devil, man, or even yourself has ordained for you.
If you cannot see or perceive how an answer to prayer could possibly come your way - just remember - God is a God Who "makes" things happen for those who hope in...wait for...or love Him.
"...for with God all things are possible." (Mark 10:27)
"For with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:37) "...The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (Luke 18:27)
May God Bless His Word,
Connie
